Digital marketing, as it suggests, is using online and internet-based platforms to promote products or services. These platforms can be digital technologies such as computers, laptops, smartphones etc. 

Traditional marketing is used because it has easy connectivity with the target audience. For example, billboards and advertisements can be placed in the local region where potential customers can see and be targeted.  

By running traditional advertisements for long periods of time, you allow the customers to understand and recognise your brand.  Another reason why traditional marketing is used is that it has a high reach, as television still have a large customer base; a single ad can reach millions    

While on the other hand, digital marketing is highly cost-effective, for example, there are budget-friendly channels for start-ups to use for their marketing and still get a good result. Digital marketing also provides the same opportunities for all enterprises to attract targeted customers and can be more targeted than traditional marketing as you can use more parameters other than just location. 

One can gain high engagement through digital marketing due to its two-way communication, for example, making content that can influence your target audience the right way and increase brand awareness if you have powerful content.  Digital marketing can also help with expanding domestically and internationally since promoting on, let's say social media, your product or service can reach another geographic location 

In conclusion, both of these marketing techniques are useful and can be effective if used in the right way. However, digital marketing is growing and significantly evolved in recent years becoming popular due to the many advantages it has over traditional marketing, like how cost-effective it is.
